Glulam
The high-quality glued laminated timber is characterised by its high load-bearing capacity, great dimensional stability and freedom of the shapes of the wooden components. Thanks to an almost unlimited freedom of configuration, the glulam beams offer various possibilities for creating modern, slender but also economical, as well as ecological constructions.
Resistant, usable in a creative way and at the same time light: Mediawood’s glulam has a large number of advantages in addition to being one of the most natural building materials of all. The low weight of glulam and its high flexibility allow, for example, stability and firmness. What's more, it is an extremely safe material: it offers a long fire resistance, superior to unprotected steel constructions, but also excellent resistance to chemicals. The multilayer bonding also makes it stable in shape and scarcely prone to cracking. The result is an easy-to-work and practically universal material!
Mediawood glulam consists of at least 3 lamellas glued together in the direction of the grain. The lamellas are selected on the basis of resistance and homogenised, thus optimising the loadbearing, which is much higher than classic construction wood, as well as the final aesthetic result of the surface. High capacity, shape stability, variety of products, high degree of pre-production and excellent surface quality make it the king of building materials.
The laminated wood provided by Mediawood is produced in standard formats and made to measure in terms of length, size, resistance class and surface quality.
This allows it to be used in the most diverse architectural works, including those exposed, such as beams and floors, but also in modern and creative buildings in which shape stability and resistance are associated with high aesthetic requirements.
